Best iPad App for learning the complement system in immunology!

The immune system must be able to fight microbial pathogens on a daily basis for the body to survive. In this fight, the complement system plays an important role and is a vital part of the innate immune system.

The Complement App is designed to help students studying immunology to learn how parts of the innate immune system work. The drag’n’drop technology makes it fun to learn the various molecules and their corresponding functions of complement activation. The app gives a deeper understanding of the complement system with information boxes that can be activated by the user.

The Complement App is intended for students in the fields of medicine, biomedicine, veterinary medicine and other life sciences. Scientists and others that need to increase their knowledge of the complement system can also use the app.

Dr Magnus Hillman and Dr Emanuel Smeds designed this app, both involved in teaching medical and biomedical students at the Medical Faculty at Lund University, Sweden. They have an interest in exploring using new ways to improve the quality of teaching.
